How to Draw A Bubble Letter N. N is the alphabet’s fourteenth letter, and the case is very different. This can make learning to write these letters difficult for those just learning to write the alphabet. However, it is one of the easiest letters to write once you get used to it.

While writing a capital N might not be that difficult, it can get more complicated if you want to learn how to draw a capital N. You can make fun drawings when you learn to draw a bubble letter. We explain how you can easily do this in just 6 steps!
With that said, let’s start with the first step of the guide. We then give you some additional bonus ideas for you to try.
How to Draw A Bubble Letter N
Before starting with this bubble, you can make it easier on yourself by drawing it as a regular N. This could be done roughly with a pencil.
If you decide to do this, you should use a light-colored pencil or press lightly to the side so the pencil lines can be easily erased later.
We can start with the first row whether you go for a regular N or not. You can use any drawing tool, but we recommend something with a thick nib.
All you have to do is draw a straight, diagonal line. The reference image shows you the angle it should be at.
Most of the lines in this design will not be perfectly straight, as we want to make the letter look like it’s made out of a bubble.
However, this line will be an exception. We still recommend drawing it freehand rather than using a ruler, but try to make it as straight as possible.
Once this is done, we can move on to the next step, adding what you started.
Next, extend the first line you drew to the next section of this N. As you can see in our example, this line is drawn from above where the previous one ended.
The top of this first line arcs up and then down, almost like a roller coaster ride. So it will go down quite a bit, but there will still be a slight curve.
At the base of the new line, it will curve slightly as we start drawing the base of the N. Correcting this line can be difficult, so try to approach it slowly and evenly.
Also, follow the reference image carefully, which will help you find the right angle and curve. Then, we continue with the design in step 3!
The third pass of your letter N bubble focuses on the bottom of the letter. This part can be tricky, so let’s take it slow.
Steps like this show you why it can be so helpful to draw a regular N first, as it makes visualizing the end product so much easier!
First, we start exactly where the line ended before. It will curve and bulge upwards, as shown in the example image.
This line ends roughly in the middle of the letter, ending at a sharp point there. Finally, you need to draw another downward-sloping line from this sharp point.
That means you’re ready to complete the pattern’s final details in the guide’s next step. So, if you are ready, we can move on to this part.
As mentioned in the previous step, this will complete the outline for the letter before adding some finishing touches in the next step of the guide.
To do this, we draw in the columnar section on the right side of the letter. Right now, there is a gap on the right that we will fill.
This means you can start this next section on the top or bottom row.
Whichever way you go, we’ll draw a long, curved shape that starts and ends where the lines previously ended.
As you can see in the reference image, it is the same height as the pillar on the left. That means you’re done with the side dish!
Before proceeding with the final touches, erase any pencil lines you used as a guide. If you’ve drawn the final lines in ink, ensure it’s completely dry before erasing anything.
You’ve done the hardest parts of this letter, and now we can relax and enjoy some final details.
These details look simple but make a big difference in the drawing. The main goal of these details is to give the impression that this letter consists of a bubble.
We’ll start this process by making the bubble letter look like it’s reflecting light. To do this, draw too small ovals on the letters.
In our example, we placed them at the top of the letter, but you can place them anywhere you like.
Next, we want the letter to have some depth and volume. We achieve this by drawing different slightly curved lines over the letters.
This will help make the letter look puffy.
We’ll show you where we placed these lines. However, you can draw them elsewhere if you want to customize them. Once these have been drawn, you can add your data!
It can be shapes, patterns, or other small details that make your letter N more unique. When you’re ready, let’s move on to the last step and colorize your image.
Now you’re ready for the final step of this guide, which is adding some color to your bubble letter N.
This is a step where you can have fun and get creative. So, we encourage you to experiment and see what happens!
First, we’ll use our example as a basis for how you can color it. We used a darker blue color scheme but also used some color variations.
By making the colors lighter in some areas than others, you can make the letters appear as if light is shining on them. Our example shows how we managed to do this.
We think this color combo looks great, but there’s no need to stick with it. You can choose any other color you like, and you might even want to incorporate many different colors!
Once you’ve decided how you want to color it, feel free to play with artistic tools and media.
There are many ways to have fun once you’re done with this drawing. Unleash your creativity and see what you can create!
